The big story
LIV Golf is shutting down
After a five-year run, the Saudi-backed LIV Golf tour is winding down. On November 5, its lawyer told a bankruptcy court that a planned relaunch is off after its main new investor walked away. Expect plenty of talk this winter about where its players end up.

Swing tip of the month
Check your aim before you blame your swing
A lot of shots that look like a slice or a pull were aimed off line before the club ever moved. Many golfers set up pointing away from the target without knowing it, then swing across the ball to save the shot. Fix the aim and the swing often settles down on its own.
Try it on your next bucket
- Pick one flag. Stand behind the ball and choose a spot a foot or two ahead of it on that line.
- Lay a club on the ground along your toes, parallel to that line. Hit the first third of your bucket with it there.
- Take the club away and hit the next third, stepping behind the ball to pick your spot before every shot.
- Finish by changing targets every ball. Aim at a different flag or target green each time, so every shot counts.
